Birthing the Harvest
Fine Line/Full Circle is a Harvest baby.
Born into the world in the harvest time of the moon cycle and in the harvest time of my monthly cycle. It carries inside it this harvest DNA.
A project generated from endless hours of dialogue between myself and my friend and collaborator Nick Jankel.
Our non-goal-oriented conversations, over the course of two years, have slowly coalesced in what has now become the early stages of Fine Line/Full Circle.
This vision sits within the in-breath and out-breath of my cyclical nature and the larger cycle of its own creative expression and, of course, life’s own cycle of birth and death.
Honoring the cycles has been the guiding principle behind this project. A deliberate intervention that both Nick and I felt was needed in the context of the worldview of modernity that dishonors cycles.
Fine Line/Full Circle is now being born into the world in a slow and gentle birth. A birth that will take the time it needs to fully complete itself.
So what you will see, in this first newsletter, is the very beginning of the birthing process.
In the coming weeks and months, the birth should be complete but I can’t say that for sure.
It is important, for now, that the birthing process is honored.
As you engage with the words and videos published here, you might find yourself jumping too quickly to conclusions about “what the baby is going to look like”.
I ask, for now, that you hold these thoughts lightly.
Give yourself and this vision time to unfold, as it will, carefully in our individual and collective psyches.
This is sacred ground and slowness - at least for now - we’ll prevent us, myself included, from losing sight of what matters.
And what matters, as we start our journey, is the gentle re-membering.
The why behind the what.
But don’t worry, as with any birth, with each contraction more of the baby will become visible. So the time will come.
This project is being born in spirals. Cycles within cycles of circles and lines dancing in creative collaboration. The masculine and feminine principles re-membering that one is contained within the other, revealing themselves more fully the more we engage with them.
The first spiral makes itself visible through conversations. Choose your entry point.
Maybe you’d like to understand better the female cycle and why this is such an important part of the vision of this entire project.
The starting point of this playlist brings conversations with Women’s Mysteries Teachers Jane Collings, Jane Bennett, and Charlotte Young and also a conversation between myself and Nick.
You might want to start this journey with some playful and thought-provoking conversations between myself and Jordan Hall, Layman Pascal, and Brendan Graham Dempsey as we attempt, in each dialogue, to find different ways to honor both the feminine and the masculine, in what feels like a whole new dance.
Or you might want to sense the bigger picture behind Fine Line/Full Circle by listening to some of the conversations Nick and I have had over the course of these two years of gestation.
A colorful and textured playlist is also being created. Its name: Between Worlds.
The first conversation of this playlist was held between Rachel Hayden a transwoman, Aydan Connor, that identifies as transmasculine, and myself. It was a powerful dialogue. Maybe you’d like to start there.
No matter where you start, no matter how you decide to engage with Fine Line/Full Circle, if you feel it’s adding value to your life please spread the word.
We’d also love to hear from you. Your questions, inquiries, and feedback are a vital part of the vision of this project.
Let’s see what the next contraction will bring.
With love,
Adriana and Nick
